HISTORY IN THE MAKING
1/1/2007- While chatting with a couple of other Starfleet members it was decided we should create our own chapter within Starfleet Region 11.

1/2/2007- The Commanding Officer of the USS Megellan Captain T'Kyle agreed to act as the Genesis support ship.

7/2/2007- Official request for chapter Vessel registration within Starfleet submitted.

9/3/2007- The Genesis was excepted into Starfleet International as a chapter in training .

Here's our official verbiage:

By order of Starfleet Command, Department of Technical Services, the following facility is hereby authorized to you and your crew:

Name: Space Station Genesis
Vessel Class/Type: Ournal-Class Spacedock
Registry: SFR-1101

Upon receiving confirmation from Starfleet Operations regarding final commissioning and first assignment orders, you will proceed with all due haste to Space Station Genesis to board and assume operational command.

In the interim, please take the time to familiarize yourself with all design specifications and operating parameters for Space Station Genesis, in orderto assure a smooth deployment when the time comes.

All best to you and your crew..

1/4/2007- Our Official logo was agreed upon unanimously by all crew members

3/5/2007- At a general crew meeting it was decided  that the SS Genesis
would request a change of Class vessel and also change from a correspondence
chapter to a meeting chapter, but before we could submit our request a major
catastrophe occurred.

27/5/2007- As reported by the Commanding Officer of the USS Southern Cross

"Attention on deck… Now hear this… this is the captain speaking..

It is my sad duty to report the loss of our home port – the SS Genesis.I have just been informed by Starfleet Command of the entire destruction of the station that occurred around 0800 hours on
stardate 57418.13, with the loss of many thousands of lives.Fortunately, the CO, Commander Gary Amor was not on board the station at the time, as he was on training deployment with the 379th MEU SFMC Unit.

The Genesis was destroyed when the warp core of a visiting Klingon Vor'cha class ship, the IKS Bok C'hoi went into breach following an unexplained energy feedback through to the warpcore during some routine repairs being conducted, while the ship was birthed in one of the Genesis's main holding bays. The subsequent explosion created a manifold rupture effect and caused a series of eruption cascades that eventually tore the station apart.

Only a few survivors managed to escape via emergency pods or in shuttlecraft that were not docked at the time. Also destroyed in the accident was the Federation ship the SS Gazzalac, a Norkova class merchantman, lost with all hands that was docking at the time. There were no other Starfleet vessels at the station.

I have expressed our deepest sympathy to be forwarded to the families of all known Starfleet personnel affected by this catastrophe.

I shall keep you informed of any developments as they come to hand.

Any crew member who had family or friends stationed on the Genesis are instructed to contact the Ship's Counsellor for further information and any grief counselling that may be necessary.A memorial service will be held in the Main Flight Deck hanger at 1400 hours tomorrow.

That is all… as you were…."

Lt Col Bruce O'Brien
Commanding Officer

2/6/2007- The key crew that survived the SS Genesis destruction including the CO were then transferred to a brand new Defiant Class Escort Cruiser to put it through its paces over the next 6 months before commisioning. In Honour of the SS Genesis Starfleet command named our new ship the USS Genesis NCC-75638.

Here's is our revised official verbiage:

By order of Starfleet Command, Department of Technical Services, the
following facility is hereby authorized to you and your crew:

Name: U.S.S. Genesis
Vessel Class/Type: Defiant-Class Escort
Registry: NCC-75638

Upon receiving confirmation from Starfleet Operations regarding final
commissioning and first assignment orders, you will proceed with all due
haste to the Genesis's current assigned spacedock berth to board and assume
operational command.

In the interim, please take the time to familiarize yourself with all design
specifications and operating parameters for U.S.S. Genesis, in order to
assure a smooth deployment when the time comes.

All best to you and your crew..

1/8/2008- Whilst on patrol on the Cardassian Union border the USS Genesis was involved in an incident with two Galor class ships, the Genesis gave a good account of herself and inflecting heavy damage to the Cardassian ships, the USS Genesis received very heavy damage herself. The USS Genesis limped back to base, the crew as disembarked for medical treatment and debriefing of the incident.

The USS Genesis has been inspected by Starfleet engineers with the report stating she was too badly damage and would be de-commissioned and her crew re-assigned.

Starfleet Admirals decided to keep the Genesis name alive with the re-birth of the USS Genesis as a Saber Class fast frigate with a new crew to take up patrol duties with the USS Southern Cross and the 11th Fleet.

Long Live the USS Genesis.
